What Happened In 2021?
The 2021 T20 World Cup took place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the West Indies were the defending champions. There were multiple upsets in the tournament as both the West Indies and India failed to make it to the finals.
The T20 World Cup final saw rivals Australia and New Zealand battled it out and in the end the Aussies marched to victory and won by 8 wickets. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh finished as the player of the match. Australia will now look to defend their T20 World Cup championship on home soil.

India are not the betting favorites but they are certainly the fan favorites. India is going to find it difficult at the T20 World Cup as they are without some of their key players as Jasprit Bumrah, Deepak Chahar, and Ravindra Jadeja are out injured.
While their absence will impact the Indian team, they have put together a strong line-up that can beat any team in the world on their day!
A lot will depend on openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli who has returned to form this year after a dreadful showing at the last T20 World Cup – an impressive showing at the 2022 Asia Cup, finishing as India’s top scorer and overall, second best with 276 runs has brought new hope.
Indian Squad:
Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel.

Players to watch: Jos Butler (c), Liam Livingstone.
Odds to win: 4.00
England is a serious contender to win the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup championship.
One of the reasons is that the squad has been in good form recently, putting together a string of wins in recent T20 series matches against teams like Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa, all of which are in the Super 12 top eight.
Furthermore, England’s batting lineup is formidable, with hard-hitting captain Jos Buttler and powerful opener Alex Hales on their side, as well as Liam Livingstone, who was unable to participate in the T20 series against Pakistan and Australia due to injury but will take part in the T20 World Cup.
England Squad:
Jos Buttler (Captain), Harry Brook, Chris Jordan, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dawid Malan, Phil Salt, Adil Rashid, Liam Livingstone, David Willey, Reece Topley, Ben Stokes, Alex Hales, Mark Wood, Chris Woakes.

Odds to win: 8.00
Pakistan goes into this World Cup with some of the best bowlers in their team, and if they use this to their advantage while utilising the likes of Mohammed Rizwan and Babar Azam in the batting department, the team can go on to win the tournament.
Pakistan has all the talent in the world but are highly unpredictable team as you never know what you are going to get with Pakistan.
Pakistan Squad:
Babar Azam (Captain), Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Haider Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Mohammed Hasnain, Khushdil Shah, Mohammed Nawaz, Mohammed Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Mohammed Wasim, Shan Masood, Shaheen Shah Afridi.
South Africa (Ranked 4)

South Africa have a reputation of choking in big matches but the Proteas have some great T20 players that should do well in Australian conditions. South African go into this World Cup with a strong bowling unit and a decent batting line-up.
Their weaknesses are in their spin department and in the middle-order as they are not very consistent with their performance.

Temba Bavuma (Captain), Heinrich Klaasen, Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, David Miller, Wayne Parnell, Anrich Nortje, Rille Rossouw, Kagiso Rabada, Tristan Stubbs, Tabraiz Shamsi, Marco Jansen.
Our Prediction
The odds are heavily stacked in Australia’s favour, from the event being hosted on their own turf to the team being able to play at full strength. If you want to take a calculated risk, then put your money on India or England to cause an upset and win the 2022 T20 World Cup!
