Complete Review of Juicy Stakes Poker – A Review of their Online Poker Room

I’m going to take a deep dive into Juicy Stakes Poker, explaining everything you need to know to decide whether to join this poker platform in 2024.

Juicy Stakes Poker has been present on the web for more than a decade, as it was officially founded in 2009. Back then, it was a part of the Cake Poker Network, only to be acquired by the Horizon Poker Network, whose member it is right now.

Therefore, Juicy Stakes shares the liquidity pool with all other sister sites that are also part of the HPN, including Intertops Poker, which is the network’s flagship site.

The poker platform is available all over the world, apart from a couple of countries such as Spain and France. It’s available in the US and Australia as well.

However, it is not available in several US states, mainly Washington, New York, New Jersey, Missouri, Maryland, Louisiana and Kentucky. Naturally, this may change in the future, so it’s best that you manually check whether you can access the site from your state.

What makes Juicy Stakes stand out from the crowd is the selection of games that are continually being improved by a hard-working team of developers and poker professionals. On top of that, the site features great bonuses and promotions, including a lucrative rakeback deal that can result in up to 36% rakeback.

Finally, the site comes with a wide range of NLHE and PLO cash games, as well as some top-notch tournaments with low buy-ins.

If you think about joining the Juicy Stakes Poker, make sure to read this review to find out more about it.

Legalities

Being a part of a popular poker network, Juicy Stakes is a legal and trusted online platform for playing the popular card game. It is currently licensed by an official regulator from Curacao and is widely regarded as a safe and secure site to play poker on.

Players don’t have to worry about security as all their information is protected with state-of-the-art technology on Juicy Stakes. Just like many fellow poker sites, this one uses the popular SSL encryption to keep things such as credit card numbers and bank account information safely stored and inaccessible by anyone.

Moreover, the site is regularly audited for fairness by an independent auditor, meaning there’s no room for cheaters when playing online poker on the site.

Pros

The site itself features a nice selection of ring games, tournaments and sit-and-gos. However, I must admit that there’s a lack of traffic for mid and high-stake games, especially out of the peak hours. Therefore, you’re most likely to find other players enjoying No-Limit Hold’em and Omaha games for micro and small stakes.

What I find very good about the site is the wide array of bonuses and promotions for new and regular players. Apart from a lucrative welcome offer, there are also many other promos that will make your stay at Juicy Stakes more entertaining.

Moreover, there’s plenty of special tournaments, with some of them recurring on a weekly basis.

Cons

On the other hand, the only downside to this poker platform is the lack of traffic from time to time, especially if you’re looking to play high-stake games.

Therefore, by choosing to play on Juicy Stakes, you’re choosing to play NLH and PLO ring games and tournaments for low and mid stakes.

Promotions / Bonuses

If there’s one thing that makes this platform rather special, it’s the bonuses and promotions. Apart from a nice welcome bonus, there are also several other interesting promos, as well as special tournaments that can result in hefty rewards for the best poker players.

Therefore, let’s take a short overview of what new and regular players can get on Juicy Stakes Poker.

200% Welcome Bonus

All new players who decide to join Juicy Stakes will get a 200% First Deposit Bonus up to $1,000. In other words, if you deposit, say, $100, you’ll get an additional amount of $200 in bonuses.

In order to redeem it, you need to use a special bonus code when making your first deposit, and your money will become available in the bonus balance. They will be under the “pending” status and will be released in $5 increments to your real-money balance.

All you have to do is collect Frequently Player Points (aka FPPs) by playing real-money ring and tournament games. You get $5 released to your balance for every 83.335 FFPs you collect.

FPPs are earned with rake you pay, and for every dollar you rake, you will get 1 FPP in Ring Games. That’s somewhat different in tournaments where $1 fee is equal to 7 FPP.

The welcome bonus funds are available for 90 days, so make sure to release them all to your balance before they expire and disappear.

Other Promotions

The bonuses and promotions mentioned above are just a part of the complete offer of bonuses on Juicy Stakes. There are many other one-time offers, seasonal promotions, ongoing tournaments, and more.

Since the majority of them are time-constrained, the best thing you can do is check out the promotion page on the site and see what other bonuses you can claim once you open an account.

Games

Juicy Stakes has a pretty solid offer of cash games (aka ring games), tournaments, and sit & gos, so let’s take a quick look at stake levels, poker variations and more.

Cash Games

No Limit Hold’em is the most popular variation of poker on Juicy Stakes. All cash games have a lower limit of $0.02/$0.04 and can go up to $10/20, meaning the platform isn’t really aimed at high rollers. Moreover, you’ll not often see NLH games above $1/$2, except when in peak hours.

Pot Limit Omaha is also popular for low and mid-stakes, but there are very few games that go above $1/$2. Omaha Hi and Hi-Lo usually is offered in just a couple of tables during peak hours. Although there’s an option to play fixed-limit games, there aren’t any tables available most of the time.

What made me excited is seeing Telesina among the available games. It’s a popular Italian version of poker that comes with antes, pot-limit betting system, and a different hand ranking system. It’s like a combo of three-card poker, Omaha, and stud poker. Yet, there wasn’t much to look forward to, as there are simply not enough users interested in playing Telesina.

Tournaments

MTTs that fall below the $50 level are the most common type of tournaments on this platform, and you can also find a fair selection of freerolls. In other words, if you’re looking to play for small to mid stakes there might be a couple of nice options for you.

On the other hand, those looking to take part in high-stake tourneys, as well as nosebleeds, might be a bit disappointed as these are not a common sight.

Juicy Stakes does have daily events that are usually popular and are named after big cities around the globe. They require a $15 + $1.5 buy-in and guaranteed prizes range between $500 and $1,000.

One of the MTTs that stands out is the Sunday Sundowner which takes place every Sunday at 4:15 pm ET. The buy-in fee is $30 + $3 and the guaranteed prize pool is $4,500. This is a Texas Hold’em NL that allows one re-entry and 3.5 hours late registration. Blind levels are 15 minutes.

Sit & Gos

The buy-in range for sit-and-go tourneys is from $0.50 – $200, but there are a few exceptions to the rule with competitions such as satellite, special step, and all-in-or-fold.

If you’re aiming at levels that are at $60 or more, you’re most likely going to play heads-up games, with few players interested. On the other hand, there’s plenty to choose from in lower stakes, as you can take part in heads-up, three-man, six-man, and eight-player competitions. The most popular poker variations available are PLO, NLHE, and PLO8.

Online Casino Games

There’s a common practice among many poker sites nowadays to offer alternatives to poker players. That’s why many platforms decide to offer something extra for those who register, and Juicy Stakes opted for an online casino.

Therefore, if you want to take a break from playing online poker, you can always check out some of the popular casino games offered on the site. Slots are the most popular option among users, but there are other games as well, so feel free to explore the casino if you’re interested in this type of game.

Mobile

If you like to play online poker on the go, you will be able to access the mobile version of this platform by opening your mobile browser and going to the Juicy Stakes poker website.

In other words, there are no dedicated apps for Android or iOS devices but it is available on all devices via their mobile browsers. You can still play all games and even claim bonuses and promotions on your mobile device.

Banking

Juicy Stakes offers a wide range of banking options for depositing and withdrawing funds. All of the options you can find on the site are among the most popular payment methods in the US and Australia. Therefore, let’s take a quick overview and discuss some of the limits related to them.

Deposit Methods

Right now, the methods you can use to deposit money on Juicy Stakes poker include the following ones.

Visa MasterCard American Express
Neteller Skrill Sofort
Cashtransfer Bitcoin Neosurf

All of the methods listed above are free, meaning the poker platform will not charge any additional fees when you make a deposit.

Moreover, the platform doesn’t impose any limits for depositing, but there are limits that are often set by the method you use, so make sure to check it out before you actually confirm your transaction.

Withdrawal Methods

The number of withdrawal options is a bit smaller compared to the deposit options. Moreover, there are some restrictions that you should take into account when withdrawing.

First of all, the pending time for this site is 48 business hours, or two business days. In other words, once you request a withdrawal, you will have to wait for two days as it takes the platform that long to process your request. This is actually a great thing as the majority of online poker platforms actually require more than that to process payouts.

The available withdrawal options are:

Checks Sepa Neteller
Skrill Bitcoin

Checks come with a fee of $50 and the minimum withdrawal limit of $250. On the other hand, the maximum limit is $1,000, and you’ll have to wait up to six business days before your withdrawal funds become available.

The situation is similar to Sepa, as there’s a $60 fee and a withdrawal limit of $210 minimum and $2,560 maximum. Moreover, you’ll have to wait up to 15 business days to get your money.

These two options are not very useful compared to Neteller and Skrill, which seem to be the best method you can choose for withdrawals at Juicy Stakes poker.

Withdrawing with them is free of charge and the minimum amount per withdrawal is only $25. The maximum is $1,000. Moreover, there’s no additional waiting time, meaning your funds should become available after 24 hours.

Finally, there’s Bitcoin which also requires the minimum of 48 hours pending time. The minimum amount you can withdraw is $100, but the maximum is set to $2,500. This cryptocurrency is great for people who want to play for more money.

Support

Juicy Stakes made sure that all users get the best possible support — especially the newcomers. Although there are three ways offered to contact the support, it seems that only two are active 24/7.

The most popular way to reach out the customer service is by starting the Live Chat feature. You’ll be immediately connected to one of the available support members who will try to help you out right away.

The quality of their responses is very high as they often provide short, concise, and up-to-the-point answers to users’ questions that can be understood even by complete beginners.

Another way to contact them is to send an email to [email protected]. However, the response time is a bit longer then, meaning you will have to wait for an email for some time. They usually respond within a couple of hours. Emails are great if the form of your inquiry is longer.

Finally, you can contact them via phone, but that option wasn’t available when I was active on the platform. However, make sure to check it out once you register on the site.

Apart from the great support, the iste also features a nice FAQ section, where you can find in-dept answers to some of the most common inquiries made by users. Therefore, before contacting the support, make sure to check out this page, as there’s a possibility that your question is already answered there.

Conclusion

To sum up, Juicy Stakes is a great poker platform, especially for players who live in the US and Australia, since it offers special games and tourneys aimed only at the residents of these two countries.

Since the site is part of the Horizon Poker Network, it pretty much looks like a skin for Intertops Poker, which is actually a good thing, given that the flagship site at the HZN looks pretty great.

You can play the game via browser (instant play) or you can download special software and install it to your PC. It’s completely up to you as both versions work pretty well.

Downloading the software may require you to take a few extra steps, but it allows a bit more options, albeit not many of them are really important. Therefore, if you don’t feel like wasting time, you can go for the browser-based version.

Overall, it’s a great site with a very user-friendly interface and software that can be accessed both in your browser and as a stand-alone client. It offers a great selection of games and even better bonuses.

For deposit options this site is a bit limited since it only accepts Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill and Cash Transfer, although with the additional option of Bitcoin it should be suffice for most gamblers, but I feel they need to add more cryptocurrency and other payment options
