The Hologic WTA Tour season will conclude with the WTA 2023 Finals which is set to take place in Cancún, Mexico.
The GNP Seguros WTA Finals Cancún will take place at the Plaza Quintana Roo from 29 Oct to 06 Nov. The top 8 singles female players and the top 8 female doubles teams on the WTA leaderboard will compete against each other to determine who finishes as the best female players in the world in 2023.
This is the first time that the WTA Finals is heading to Cancún, Mexico and only the second time that the WTA Finals is heading over to Mexico as the 2021 WTA Finals took place in Guadalajara, Mexico.
There is a lot at stake during the WTA Finals Cancún as a total of $9 million in prize money will be on the line.
Apart from the prize money, the world number 1 singles ranking is also on the line as current world no 1 Aryna Sabalenka will look to defend her ranking and finish the year on top as number 2 seed and former world number 1, Iga Swiatek will look to put on a top performance and reclaim her number one ranking.
The tournament will take place indoors and on a hard court. The semi-finals will take place on Nov 4 and the finals will take place on Nov 6, with the doubles final taking place first, followed by the singles final. The current singles WTA champ is France’s Caroline Garcia and the current doubles champions are Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens.

The 2022 WTA Finals took place at the Dickies Arena in Forth Worth, Texas. It was the first time in 17 years that the WTA finals returned to the United States. As usual, 8 of the top singles players and 8 of the top doubles teams took part during the WTA Finals.
The singles final saw a contest between Caroline Garcia and Aryna Sabalenka. France’s Garcia ended up winning in straight sets 7–6(7–4), 6–4 to register her 4th title in 2022 and her 11th title win in her career.
The doubles final saw Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens take on Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková. Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens went on to win the tournament 6–2, 4–6, [11–9].

If you are willing to back an underdog, then a good name to back is Ons Jabeur. The 29 year old Tunisian has never won a Grand Slam but has made it to three Grand Slam finals and fallen short.
She has won 5 WTA titles in her career so far and is currently ranked no 7 in the world. Jabeur always raises her game in big tournaments and will be looking to break her jinx of making it to the finals of big tournaments and falling short!
