The National Football League is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary this season, and there are celebrations planned all season long.
The one thing that has never changed is the terrific football that is being played on the field. The NFL has emerged as the most popular professional league in the United States, and fans can’t wait for football to be on their television sets.
The New England Patriots are the reigning Super Bowl champions, having defeated the Los Angeles Rams a season ago. New England won the AFC Championship over the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Los Angeles Rams beat the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game.

NFL Super Bowl Contenders
These four teams will all be solid again, but there are a number of teams who will challenge them this season. Let’s take a look at the top four Super Bowl contenders along with one team that could be a surprise NFL Champion.
* Odds have been provided by GTBets and are accurate of 2nd Sept 2019
New England Patriots
Odds To Win: +750
The New England Patriots just continue to deliver championships, and they are loaded once again. Quarterback Tom Brady might be over 40 years old, but he is still one of the best in the league. Brady threw for over 4,000 yards again a season ago, and continues to take care of the ball and limit turnovers. It’s going to take a great effort from some team to knock off the defending champions.
Kansas City Chiefs
Odds To Win: +800
The Kansas City Chiefs nearly knocked off the Patriots a season ago, and they return much of the same roster from the 2018 season. The Chiefs are going to have to find a way to get some stops this season if they are going to take the next step. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns a season ago, and this will be just his second year as a starting quarterback. The Chiefs will score points in bunches this season.
New Orleans Saints
Odds To Win: +850
The Saints were one blown call away from reaching the Super Bowl a season ago, and they will have a chip on their shoulder all season long. New Orleans made some improvements to their roster in the offseason, and their offense should be one of the best in the league. Quarterback Drew Brees nearly reached 5,000 passing yards a season ago, and is the all-time NFL leader in passing yards. New Orleans will be a tough team to beat in 2019.
Los Angeles Rams
Odds To Win: +950
The Rams put up some huge numbers on offense a season ago, but they couldn’t do much in the Super Bowl. Los Angeles should enter the 2019 season with a healthy roster, which should help them out a ton. Running back Todd Gurley surpassed 1,000 rushing yards a season ago, but he wasn’t healthy at the end of 2018. If the Rams can find some defense then their offense should be good enough for a ton of wins.
Outsider: Chicago Bears
Odds To Win: +1200
There are still question marks on the offensive side of the ball for the Bears, but their defense is elite. The Chicago Bears led the NFL in almost every single defensive category a season ago, and they return 10 starters. Khalil Mack had 14.5 sacks in 2018, and was an absolute monster on the defensive side of the ball.
Super Bowl Predictions:
There are a number of teams that could win the Super Bowl this season, and the NFL is always full of surprises. The top four teams appear to be pretty well set heading into the 2019 regular season, but things can always change. There are a number of young teams that could make a huge jump this season, but there are just too many great teams to break into that group.
The New England Patriots will win the AFC Conference yet again, and they will meet up with the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl. This would be a matchup of a pair of aging quarterbacks, but it will be Drew Brees’ time to shine.
Look for the New Orleans Saints +850 to win the Super Bowl this season.
