The Odds
This is a loaded field that has a ton of 2019 winners in the field, but we have picked out the three best betting favourites according to Bet365 heading into this tournament.
The Favourites
Jin Young Ko
Jin Young Ko just recently won the 2019 Evian Championship, and it is her third victory on the LPGA Tour this season. Ko leads the LPGA tour in scoring average this season, and has been consistently finishing inside of the top-5 and top-10 all season long.
Ko is the second ranked player in the world, but has a chance to move up to number one with another victory this weekend at the 2019 Women’s British Open.
There might not be a better female in the golfer in the world than Ko as the golfers head across the pond for this event.
Odds to win: 9/1
Ariya Jutanugarn
Ariya Jutanugarn probably won’t be a very popular pick by the betting experts heading into this event, but perhaps she should be.
Jutanugarn is the 7th ranked player in the world on the LPGA Tour, and has been playing some great golf of late.
Even though, Jutanugarn has yet to win in the 2019 season, she has finished in the top-ten seven different times, and has five top-five finishes. Jutanugarn has too much talent to continue to come up short, and this could be her weekend to shine.
Odds to win: 10/1
Sung Hyun Park
Sung Hyun Park is the top rated women’s golfer in the world, and she is always one of the favourites every time she enters the field.
Park has won a pair of tournaments this season on the LPGA Tour, and has four top-five finishes, and six finishes inside of the top-10.
Park has a scoring average of under 70 on the year, and she has the skills to be able to navigate this difficult course. Sung Hyun Park hasn’t traditionally played well at the Women’s British Open, but this could be the year that she turns things around.
Odds to win: 16/1
Dark Horse: Lexi Thompson
Lexi Thompson is a very tough golfer to figure out. She is without a doubt the best United States golfer on the LPGA Tour, but she has played very poorly on more than one occasion this season.
Thompson is still the number-three ranked player in the world, but she needs a signature victory to solidify her career. Thompson has just one victory on tour this season, but has been in the top-ten at least seven times.
She will have the fans in the United States watching her every move this weekend.
Odds to win: 20/1
Our Pick
All of the big names will be taking part of the 2019 Women’s British Open, and this is a very deep field. There isn’t a clear cut favorite heading into this tournament, and there could definitely be a surprise winner. The golf course will make things much more difficult for the women than some of the recent venues, and that should help the top golfers rise to the top. Jin Young Ko comes into this tournament with a ton of momentum, and she should be the pick. Bet Jin Young Ko to win her second straight tournament by winning the 2019 Women’s British Open.
