Norway vs England

The English are the clear favourites in this game and surely the better team based on overall talent. But Norway has proven to be a capable team with plenty of fight. If they survived Australia in the Round of 16, the Scandinavian side can surely survive England as well.
The Three Lionesses have an abundance of riches offensively, but they’ve yet to look cohesive in the final third and anywhere close to their best. Perhaps more importantly, Norway will be a big step up in competition after facing Cameroon.
If you want to go with an upset, this might be the game to take a chance on Norway.

France vs United States

This has been the most anticipated matchup of this tournament. It feels like it should be a final rather than a quarter-final, and most expect the winner of this game to ultimately win the whole thing. Nevertheless, the quarter-finals pits the U.S. against host nation France, who is a slight betting underdog despite the home-field advantage.
France dominated the Americans in a 3-1 win back in January, which should give them the confidence to do it again. But the U.S. was missing a handful of starters that day and the players were out of season.
That won’t be the case this time around, as the Americans will find a way and keep their hopes of a repeat alive.

Italy vs Netherlands

These are two teams on the rise, so the winner of this game will take a massive step forward. Both teams are actually quite similar as well. Both teams have multiple scorers rather than one star player and both can turn defense into attack in a hurry.
For a quarter-final, the Dutch are considerable favourites in this game, so picking Italy to pull off the upset isn’t a bad bet. However, the Italians can be too aggressive at times, and their lack of experience could catch up to them at this point in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands won the European Championship two years ago, so they won’t be fazed by the moment, and they’ll find a way to advance.

Germany vs Sweden

With all the France-USA talk, most people forget that these two teams actually played in the Gold Medal Match at the last Olympics. Of the eight teams left, Sweden is the biggest underdog while Germany is the safest pick to advance to the semi-finals.
To be fair, the Swedes are a difficult team to face, as they’ve proven time and time again. But the Germans have quietly gone about their business in this tournament and won in impressive fashion.
Sweden is good, but they’re not worth the risk. Make the safe choice and pick Germany to win.
