The MMA community were pinning their hopes on former UFC welterweight champion to silence YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul on August 30 in Columbus, Ohio. The 24 year old YouTube sensation knocked out former UFC welterweight champ Ben Askren in the first round earlier this year and then agreed to fight Askren’s friend and training partner Woodley.
There were many in the MMA community who felt that Paul’s win over Ben Askren was a fluke because Askren never had good hands and made a name for himself based on his wrestling. Jake Paul in recent months has challenged multiple MMA fighters including Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal.
The MMA community pinned their hopes on Tyron Woodley and expected him to KO Paul. That almost happened as Woodley sent Jake Paul into the ropes but he did not hit the ground and recovered quickly. Most of the fight was spent prancing and dancing around the ring as both fighters did not seem very keen to stand and engage.
The two fighters went the distance and after 8 rounds, the judges scored a split decision and gave it to Jake Paul. Woodley looked a bit surprise but he was not robbed in our opinion as he did not impose himself or take the fight to Jake Paul.
Immediately after the decision, Tyron Woodley called for a rematch with Logan Paul and embarrassed the MMA community further. Jake Paul asked Tyron Woodley to tattoo ‘I love Jake Paul’ on his body to get a rematch and Woodley was only too happy to do so!
Jake Paul sent out a cryptic tweet on Tuesday saying retired boxer! We will have to wait and see if he means it!

UFC Fighters Speak Out
Tyron Woodley is a professional MMA fighter and a former UFC champion. Jake Paul has only been training and boxing for the last 3 years. To go the distance with Woodley and then get the win is a big slap in the face for Woodley.
Current UFC bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling said that he would be embarrassed to call for a rematch after losing to Jake Paul and no amount of money would push him to call for a rematch. Nate Diaz did not waste any words as usual and just tweeted that both guys suck!

Former UFC lightweight and heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier said that Jake Paul showed how tough he was during the fight and kept bringing it even though he was tired. Cormier finished with a Dammit Tyron comment!
