Cristiano Ronaldo has spent the last nine years playing for Real Madrid and has been their most outstanding player for the last decade. There were rumours circulating prior to the 2018 FIFA World Cup that Ronaldo would quit Real Madrid once Portugal finished their world cup campaign.
Those rumours are true as Ronaldo has confirmed that he has signed a contract with Juventus estimated to be more than €100 million for the next four years.
The 33 year old Ronaldo finishes his stint with Real Madrid as the club’s leading goal-scorer having a record of 451 goals from 438 appearances.
Ronaldo was instrumental in Real Madrid’s success over the last 9 years and has helped lead the club to 4 FIFA Club World Cups, 2 Spanish Cups, 2 League Championships and 4 Champions League titles.
In a letter to his fans, Ronaldo said
I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club and for this city. I have had nine absolutely wonderful years at the club. Real Madrid has conquered my heart, and that of my family, and that is why more than ever I want to say thank you: thank you to the club, the president, the directors, my colleagues, all the staff, doctors, physios and incredible people that make everything work.
