Tom Brady lifts the Super Bowl title for the 7th time with Buccaneers win vs the ChiefsSummary

  • Tom Brady wants time off after this season ends
  • Brady non-committal about his return to the Bucs
  • Buccaneers unsure if Brady will call time on his career

Whenever reporters have asked Tom Brady about his plans to retire, the legendary quarter back has always made it clear that he intends to keep playing and has no plans to retire.

Things might have changed this season for Brady as he has requested for time-off once this season is over and has not committed to returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady spent most of his career with the New England Patriots and his fans expected him to finish his career with the Patriots. However, Brady left the Patriots and joined the Bucs in 2020 after signing a 2 year contract for $50 million. He decided to extend his contract for another 12 months after leading the Bucks to a Super Bowl championship, the 7th in Brady’s illustrious career.

The Bucs had a chance to advance to the NFC Championship on 23 Jan but they ended up losing to the Los Angeles Rams. Brady who will turn 45 in August has already informed the Bucks that he wants to take a break after this season and spend time with his family. He has requested for a month and a bit longer if necessary as he wants to rest both physically and mentally.

Brady has not committed to returning to the Bucs next season and says he needs to talk things over with his family before making a final decision.

Bucks Not Sure If Brady Will Retire

Brady has once again made it clear that he is physically fit and believes that he can play on into his 50s but does not believe that he will. There’s nothing left for Brady to achieve with the NFL as he has won 7 Super Bowls and made a lot of money. It is the competitor in Brady that refuses to quit and wants to keep playing.

However, he is aware that all good things must come to an end and says when he can no longer commit to a 100 percent; he will call it a day. The Bucs are not sure if their star quarter back will retire or play one more season with them but head coach Bruce Arians is optimistic that Brady will play one more season with the Bucs.
