Conor McGregor retired via a tweet a week ago and unretired himself via another tweet. In-between those tweets from the Irish superstar has been a tirade of tweets that were spiteful, witty and derogatory which were directed at UFC light-weight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov who defeated McGregor via submission at UFC 229.
McGregor has come across as a sore loser after he tapped out to Khabib and has called for a rematch on multiple occasions but Nurmagomedov wasn’t very interested as he said Conor did not deserve one, given the way he lost.
McGregor tweeted
Don’t be scared of the rematch you little scurrying rat. You will do what you are told like you always do
He also went on to attack other Dagestani fighters before releasing a controversial tweet which he quickly deleted.
Conor posted a picture of Khabib and his wife getting married and tweeted “Your wife is a towel” in reference to the fact that she had her head covered which is what Muslim women do. The tweet did not go down well with Khabib or his manager Ali Aabdelaziz.
Khabib Hits McGregor Below The Belt
Khabib warned Conor via a tweet that is now deleted and told him that he will pay for what he has said while Ali Aabdelaziz reiterated the warning by saying you cannot attack a religion of 1.5 billion people and someone’s wife.
Khabib also fired back with a tweet of his own likely Conor to a jealous wife who keeps retiring from the UFC but is not able to leave fully. He then posted a picture of McGregor with another woman and called him a rapist and warned him that justice would find him. The tweet is in reference to an alleged sexual assault charge made against McGregor in Dublin, Ireland.
Rapist, you are Rapist.
You are a hypocrite who is not responsible for your actions. Justice will find you.

The twitter feud quickly escalated until UFC President Dana White stepped in and sent out a message to both camps that resulted in them deleting some of their controversial tweets.
In a statement, White said
I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is not acceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps, and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally
McGregor has since tweeted that he wants to move forward with his fans of all faiths and backgrounds.
