Summary:
- MMA fans doubt Conor McGregor will fight in 2023
- McGregor is yet to enter the USADA testing pool and needs to be in for 6 months
- McGregor addressed his critics via Instagram
MMA fans were hoping to see the return of the “Notorious” Conor McGregor before the end of 2023.
McGregor faced off with “Iron” Mike Chandler to be coaches for the Ultimate Fighter reality TV show this season.
Usually, the two coaches end up fighting each other during International Fight Week in July but that did not happen as Conor McGregor has not been part of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing pool.
McGregor Yet To Confirm If He Entered USADA Testing
UFC athletes need to be a part of the USADA testing pool for a minimum of 6 months before they are cleared to fight in the Octagon. The last pay per view card for the UFC is on Dec 16 which means McGregor should have entered the testing pool a lot earlier if he wanted to fight on the Dec 16 card.
USADA can make an exception an allow a fighter to compete in the Octagon with just 2 clean drug tests but they have made it clear that they are not willing to grant McGregor that exception, even though he will be keen to push for it.
Due to McGregor not entering the USADA testing pool, MMA fans have taken to social media to say that McGregor will not fight in 2023 and did the Ultimate Fighting just to gain more publicity and stay in the limelight.
Michael Chandler has also called out McGregor for not enrolling in the USADA testing pool and it looks like Chandler will need to find a new dance partner if he wants to fight again in 2023.

McGregor Responds Via Instagram
Conor McGregor decided to respond to his critics via an Instagram post which shows him sparring. His post addressed his critics with his saying “Y’all shut up and wait. Silence! A roar from the throne. Patience, Peasants!”
However, McGregor did not address whether he has enrolled in the USADA testing pool, whether he still wants to fight in 2023 and is he still keen on fighting Michael Chandler.
McGregor is also dealing with issues outside the Octagon as he was recently accused of sexual assault during Game 4 of the NBA finals.
