Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregorThe long anticipated fight between UFC Superstar Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is now less than 6 days away.

The UFC has confirmed that it will beef up security as we officially enter fight week as there are bound to be fireworks with thousands of Irish and Russian fans making their way to Las Vegas.

McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov is the Main Event for UFC229 which is scheduled to take place on 6 October at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC has held multiple cards at the T-Mobile arena but this one is different and will keep the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) on their toes.

The UFC will cover fight week with its popular “Embedded series on YouTube“. Fans will get a glimpse of the two superstars during their open workouts which are scheduled for Wednesday. The company has also confirmed that there will be a press conference on Thursday and it will be opened to the public.

Judging by McGregor’s antics during the first press conference which was closed to the public, one can expect more crazy antics from the Irish superstar. The press conference will take place at the Park Theatre inside MGM Grand. On Friday, the two will face-off during the ceremonials weigh-ins, provided everything goes as per plan. MMA fans will be hoping that nothing goes wrong in the next 6 days and both fighters are able to make weight and settle their beef inside the octagon.

UFC229: Stacked Main Card

While McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov is making all the noise, there are a number of great UFC fights on the main-card. The co-main event has received very little publicity as former interim champ Tony Ferguson will fight Anthony Pettis. The UFC also has this fight on standby as Ferguson could step into the Main Event and replace either McGregor or Nurmagomedov should anything happen to them.

Derrick Lewis will look to redeem himself after a previous poor showing against Francis Ngannou. Lewis won that fight but it was one of the most boring fights in the UFC. Lewis will fight another Russian in Alexander Volkov.

The main card will start with fan favourite Michelle Waterson putting it all on the line against Felice Herrig. Also on the card is Ovince Saint Preux (OSP) who will take on the unbeaten and dangerous Dominick Reyes.
