Conor McGregor Throws Shade At Potential Fight
Islam Makhachev vs. Alex Volkanovski is a huge fight for the UFC as Alex Volkanovski has established himself to be the best featherweight on the planet and is now trying to become a two division champ.
UFC superstar Conor McGregor immediately took to twitter to throw shade at the potential fight. McGregor who was champion in the featherweight and lightweight divisions reminded fans that they were “his two old belts” and said “this fight would end up doing 10 pay per view buys!”

Alex Volkanovski did not take long to reply and he came back with an epic comeback using one of McGregor’s own quotes. Volkanovski tweeted “A former wise man once said” and then quoted McGregor who had tweeted on 08 November 2014 “Winners focus on winning, Losers focus on winners!”

Volkanovski put McGregor in his place immediately reminding the Irish MMA star that he has only 1 win in the UFC in the last 5 years and has won just 1 out of his last four fights. It’s rare to see anyone put McGregor in his place so emphatically but silencing McGregor with his own quote was epic!
McGregor Immediately Changes Tune On Twitter
McGregor never had a comeback to Volkanovski’s quote and immediately tried to save face by changing tune and deciding to advise Volkanovski on what he should do to beat Islam Makhachev.
McGregor had also sent out a number of tweets earlier throwing shade at his former foe Khabib Nurmagomedov and his camp but later deleted them. MMA media recently confirmed that McGregor pulled himself out of the UFC testing pool and would need to get back in and complete a mandatory 6 month period in order to be cleared to fight in the UFC again!
