Premier League Fantasy Football Gameweek 37 top picks

Updated On May 4, 2018 by David Nugent

Gameweek 37 is a bumper one in FPL, as 12 teams play teams games, with the Premier League season drawing to a close. Our gameweek 36 picks produced mixed results. Here are our gameweek 36 picks:

Chris Smalling (Manchester United)

The England international has become a double threat as an FPL asset in recent weeks. United have kept clean sheets in three of their last five league outings, while Smalling has also scored twice in the last four top-flight games.

At £5.7million, he looks like a slightly expensive asset. Boss Mourinho has stated he will rotate his defence in the final games, but Smalling has started the last 13 Premier League outings, so looks likely to continue in the centre of defence.

The Red Devils face a doubleheader of away games against Brighton and West Ham, which Mourinho’s side are favourites to win.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

The Belgium international is by no means a cheap option at £10.5m. However, he has the potential to score big in gameweek 37 with a home game against a distracted Liverpool and a trip to Huddersfield next Wednesday.

The forward faces a Liverpool defence that has kept just one sheet in their last four top-flight outings. With their minds on the Champions League final at the end of the month, no doubt Jurgen Klopp will attempt to rotate his squad.

Hazard has not enjoyed the best season of his Chelsea career, but has still scored 12 times and produced six assists for the former champions. The former Lille star has picked up just a single goal and assist in his last three top-flight appearances. However, we are backing the Belgian to rediscover form in gameweek 37.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

The Frenchman rated at £7.9m, has hit form of late for the Red Devils, scoring three times and producing one assist in his last three top-flight outings. The midfielder has now scored six times and produced 12 assists this season for United. Pogba will be confident of adding to that tally in gameweek 37.

The Red Devils face away games at Brighton and West Ham in gameweek 37, with both teams struggling just above the drop zone, Jose Mourinho is likely to name a relatively strong team in both games.

Pogba has the form and the value to prove to be a very good pick for gameweek 37, especially if you do not have Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku in your team, as it covers the Red Devils attack.

Jordan Ayew (Swansea)

The Ghana international has proven something of a bargain buy for FPL players this season. The former Marseille star is currently £5.3m, which represents very good value for a forward with a doubleheader in gameweek 37.

Ayew’s form has not been great of late, as he has produced just seven goals in his last seven starts for the Swans. However, he has been creating chances of late and looks a threat to opposition defences. The fact that the forward faces a doubleheader of games against Bournemouth and Southampton, before finishing the season with a home game against Stoke make him look like a very good FPL option indeed.

Who will the top pick for gameweek 37 of FPL?
