Premier League Fantasy Football Gameweek 36 top picks

Updated On Apr 27, 2018 by David Nugent

In what is now becoming a trend, Gameweek 36’s top picks produced mixed results. However, as always we strive for improvement, so here are your top picks for gameweek 36 of FPL:

Martin Dubravka (Newcastle)

The Slovakian international has been a sensation in the Newcastle goal since joining the Magpies on loan in January from Sparta Prague. At £4.5million, Dubravka represents a bargain.

Not only do the north east side have a good fixture this weekend at home to West Brom, the Magpies also have a double gameweek in 37. The Slovakian star has conceded just seven goals in his eight Premier League appearances, keeping three clean sheets.

Since Dubravka’s arrival, Newcastle have lost just two games and moved from the relegation dogfight to mid-table. The 29-year-old is likely to make his move to the north east a permanent one in the summer.

Ben Davies (Tottenham)

Ben Davies is enjoying his most consistent and successful Premier League campaign in a Tottenham shirt. The Wales international has scored twice and also produced seven assists for the team from north London.

Tottenham host travel-sick Watford at Wembley this weekend, which is a game that could see the former-Swansea full-back add to his tally at both ends of the table, as the Hornets have been struggling for goals on their travels.

Valued at just £5.8million, he looks a bargain especially with a potential double gameweek against West Brom and Newcastle. The only downside is that Davies may suffer rotation if Danny Rose returns to full fitness. However, if he does not then the Welshman could be in for a good run until the end of the season.

Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Zaha was amongst last week’s picks and endured a rare off afternoon against Watford. Prior to his blank against the Hornets last weekend, Zaha had scored three goals in his previous two outings in the top-flight. One of the keys to the Ivory Coast international’s form has been a shift into the central striker role for the Eagles.

Zaha is rated at £6.9million, which is mid-range for such a dangerous attacking player. A home game against Leicester, which the Eagles are favourites to win, looks like a good chance for Zaha to add to his points haul.

The forward may not have a double gameweek in 37, but he is still a tasty FPL option that could be a fine differential too.

Heung Min-Son (Tottenham)

The South Korean international has slightly gone off the boil of late, producing just assists and four goals in the last gameweeks. However, with four very promising fixtures to come, including a home clash with Watford this weekend and a double gameweek, Son looks decent value at £8.3million.

Son loves playing at Wembley, so those three remaining home games could be the key to a big points haul for the affable South Korean star. There is a slight risk of squad rotation by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, but Son will always be a threat to the opposition, as his 12 goals and seven assists this season illustrate perfectly.
