- Sports betting brought in $71.4 million from nearly $782 million in wagers.
Casinos across Pennsylvania kicked off 2026 with excellent results, reporting strong growth across nearly every major segment of the gaming business.
In total, the state’s casinos generated $590.6 million in revenue in January, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same month last year.
Much of it came from online gaming, which generated $249.3 million, while tax revenue from all gaming activities reached $250 million, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
In terms of individual properties, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course was in the lead, posting $111.4 million in total revenue for the month, up more than 20% from a year earlier.
Valley Forge Casino Resort was next with $105.8 million, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia came in third with $57.2 million.
Fast Growth for Online Gaming
Slot machines, long the backbone of casino gaming, produced $189.1 million statewide. That number was only slightly higher than last year, showing that growth in this category has slowed.
Parx Casino remained the top earner from slots with $29.2 million, although its total dipped slightly. Wind Creek Bethlehem and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh were close behind.
Online gaming reported much faster growth, with Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course dominating this category with $96.2 million in revenue.
The casino was followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort and Rivers Casino Philadelphia, which also posted solid gains, showcasing the ongoing demand from players who prefer to gamble from home.
Sports betting added another $71.4 million in revenue, coming from a total of $782.4 million in wagers. Valley Forge Casino Resort led in this area, followed by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and Hollywood Casino York.
Overall, last month’s results highlight how much the gaming industry in the Keystone State has transformed in recent years, with traditional slots remaining important and online gaming becoming a major revenue driver.
With strong numbers across multiple segments, the state’s casinos appear to be entering 2026 with solid momentum.
