The World Poker Tour (WPT) has decided to bolster its online gaming offerings via a partnership with Game Play Network (GPN). The WPT online offering will now feature a range of games from GPN which will be available to players in the United States.
The WPT will offer these games through GPN’s patented platform that will give B2B partners the opportunity to play these real money games. While live poker action is slowly returning to normal in the United States, the demand for online casino and poker games has increased considerably since COVID-19.
While top poker operators like PokerStars and GGPoker continue to dominate the online space, the WPT is looking to strengthen its online gaming portfolio with strategic partnerships.
WPT CEO Adam Pliska said the WPT online platform continues to be a big part of their plans and overall gaming portfolio.
The WPT took its time to review and shortlist which online content partners it wanted to tie up with. They decided to go with GPN because it had great market access, a robust product and a very strong team.
GPN Content For U.S Players
The WPT is looking to expand its online presence across the United States and the partnership with GPN will enable them to do this quickly. GPN currently operates in 22 states across the country and has the ability to quickly expand to a total of 40 states which is ideal for the WPT.
Another advantage of partnering with GPN is that it has advance deposit wagering options and is also licensed to offer betting on horse races based on state laws and the Federal Interstate Horseracing Act.
The WPT continues to grow its presence with each passing year since it was established in 2001. The WPT has given away over $1.3 billion over the years and continues to push new boundaries. Sam Kiki who is the chief commercial officer for GPN said when it comes to poker; there are few brands as popular and credible as the WPT.
Kiki said GPN was happy to get the opportunity to partner with the WPT and give WPT players full access to a great selection of real money GPN games. The partnership between WPT and GPN will allow the two companies to leverage each other’s strengths and offer high quality real money iGaming content going forward.
