USA and Mexico Submit Official Hosting Bid

The United States who are the current champions has hosted the 2027 Women’s World Cup on a couple of occasions so far. The US hosted the World Cup in 1999 and then in 2003 but over the next two decades has watched other nations host the World Cup.

The United States has joined forces with neighbours Mexico to submit an official bid to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The announcement was made by both federations on the final day to confirm their interest in hosting the World Cup.

In a statement, U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlown Cone said

The United States has always been a global leader for the women’s game, and we would be honored to co-host the world’s premier event for women’s soccer along with Mexico. Hosting the 2027 Women’s World Cup provides us an incredible opportunity to cap off two historic years of World Cup soccer in the Concacaf region, helping us continue to grow the game among our confederation associations.

Potential Hosts Have Till Dec 8th To Submit Full Bid

The United States will make a good push along with Mexico to win hosting rights given it has been over two decades since the US hosted the Women’s World Cup. Some of the other countries that are likely to put in a bid and compete with the United States to host the World Cup include Brazil, South Africa, and a joint bid from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

Potential host nations have time till Dec 8th, 2023 to submit a full and detailed proposal to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The host nation will be announced on May 19, 2024.
