The Phoenix Suns finally stopped their five-game losing streak in the 2025–26 NBA season with a crushing 120-98 win against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night. Despite Scottie Barnes’ best attempts to keep the Raptors within striking distance with 13 points, the deficit ultimately proved to be too difficult to overcome.

Devin Booker led the charge with 25 points, while Jalen Green added 20, helping Phoenix secure its 40th win of the season and mark a four-win improvement over last year, with 10 games still pending.

From the get-go, the Suns were the ones that set the tone, never trailing and jumping to a 34-20 lead after the first quarter. The team hit 8-of-12 from beyond the arc, and, by halftime, they managed to extend the advantage to 66-48.

Booker scored a total of 12 points in the first half.

In the third quarter, Jordan Ott’s side widened the lead even more, taking an 18-point halftime cushion to a 92-62 advantage late in the period.

A highlight came when Booker drove to the basket, drew a foul, and completed a three-point play to keep the Raptors at bay. Collin Gillespie contributed 16 points, while the second unit stepped up as Ryan Dunn scored 12 and rookie Rasheer Fleming added 11.

Second Loss in a Row for Toronto

Toronto, now 39-31, lost its second straight game, preserving its fifth position in the Eastern Conference playoff race while being just a half-game ahead of the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers.

RJ Barrett and Ja’Kobe Walter each scored 13 points to support Barnes, but the team could not close the gap.

Despite missing a few important players, including Royce O’Neale, Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams, the Suns’ gameplay was characterized by plenty of depth and cohesion.

The team showed plenty of resilience on both ends of the floor while its bench production proved to be an essential element that helped maintain a steady lead throughout the contest.

Looking ahead, the Raptors will travel to face the Utah Jazz on Monday, hoping to rebound and protect their playoff position. Phoenix will return home to host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, aiming to continue their late-season surge and build momentum for the playoffs.
