Premier League Fantasy Football Gameweek 33 top picks

Updated On Apr 6, 2018 by David Nugent

The Premier League is coming to the end and that means that FPL is also reaching a crucial period. Our Gameweek 32 picks once again produced mixed results. Here are our picks for the latest FPL gameweek:

Mat Ryan (Brighton)

The Australian number one has been a consistent performer this season. In fact, former Valencia star is ranked as the sixth best goalkeepers for points this season, which is not a bad ranking for a goalkeeper from a newly promoted team.

There are many positive factors to Ryan as an FPL option, including his price tag of £4.6million. Another is the fact he faces a home game against a goal-shy Huddersfield this weekend, a game the Seagulls are favourites to win. There is also the fact that Chris Hughton’s side has two games in gameweek 34. All in all, he looks like a very sensible selection for anybody’s team.

Ben Chilwell (Leicester)

The full-back looks to be a value Leicester option at £4.4million, with the Foxes set for two games in gameweek 34. However, prior to that big double gameweek Claude Puel’s side host struggling Newcastle this weekend at the King Power Stadium.

Although the Foxes have not kept many clean sheets of late, just one in their last seven league games. However, that one clean sheet was in their last outing in a 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Chilwell also offers an attacking threat, as he delivered 11 points against the Seagulls. The game was not the first that he has offered an attacking threat, as he has set-up seven chances in the last four gameweeks, which is the second highest tally of any player in his position. He could well add to that tally in his next two gameweeks.

Willian (Chelsea)

While many FPL bosses consider the big names from Chelsea like Marcos Alonso or Eden Hazard for their fantasy teams, Brazilian playmaker Willian offers better value for money than the latter at just £71.million.

Throughout the season, Willian has been in and out of the Blues starting line-up. However, he has featured in the Blues last four league games. The former Shakhtar star has some impressive figures, such as scoring four times and producing three assists in his last seven league starts.

Willian has had eight shots on target in his last four games, the second highest tally of any midfielder. A home game against London rivals West Ham this weekend and two games in gameweek 34 make the Brazilian a potential bargain way into the Chelsea team.

Chris Wood (Burnley)

The New Zealand international has scored eight goals since his summer arrival from Championship Leeds, despite not featuring in 11 of the Clarets Premier League games this season.

The big frontman has hit good form of late, having scored four goals in his last three top-flight appearances. At £6.2million, the striker looks a bargain. A trip to Watford this weekend is not a daunting one, while the team from Lancashire will play twice in gameweek 34. Uniquely, the Clarets will feature in gameweek 35 too, which makes their assets even more attractive to FPL players.
