Arrest Warrant Out For Nate Diaz For Second Degree Battery

When UFC President Dana White who himself has been in hotwater was shown the video of Nate choking out the stranger who looked similar to Logan Paul, White suggested that Nate had opened himself up for a massive lawsuit. Nate could end up dealing with a lawsuit real soon but for now, he has to deal with the New Orleans police.

New Orleans police have confirmed that they have issued an arrest warrant for Nate Diaz for second degree battery after going through video footage of the incident. In New Orleans, second degree battery is considered a felony and is subject to a $2,000 fine along with a max of 8 years jail time and could include hard labor.

Diaz was in New Orleans to support his sparring partner and ex-UFC fighter Chris Avila who was a part of Misfits Boxing 6. During the event, Nate also had an incident with Chase DeMoor, a reality TV star. Nate was filmed picking up a water bottle and hitting DeMoor with it.

As of this writing, New Orleans police have not arrested Nate Diaz and his manager is yet to release a statement on the incident.

Nate Set To Fight Jake Paul In August

This incident could turn out to be either good or bad for Nate Diaz. The incident has caused Nate to be in the news once again and get his upcoming fight with Jake Paul a lot more publicity.

Nate is set box fight Jake Paul on August 05 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Jake Paul and his brother wasted no time filming a response to the incident on social media, the extra attention should help the fight to sell more pay per view buys.

It could also turn out bad for Nate as it could distract him from preparing for his fight with Jake Paul and worse get him jail time!
