Tom Brady celebrates AFC Final 2018 WinThe New England Patriots were written off and so was their star player Tom Brady.

They were the underdogs playing the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night and as the game progressed it looked like the Patriots would be eliminated.

However, they showed their experience and class when it mattered the most and pulled of a stunning 37-31 win during overtime to make their third straight Super Bowl Final.

The Patriots had an average season leading up to their AFC Championship game which is why they were written off by most NFL analysts.

They were up against the Chiefs who were the younger team with more exuberance and flamboyance. The Chiefs played very well throughout the season and had the added advantage of playing at home.

Highlight Heaven

They had the lead and should have closed out the game but Brady and his troops rallied from behind to put immense pressure on the Chiefs during the fourth quarter and tie the scores. The Patriots continued to put pressure during overtime and their relentless drive soon got the better of the Chiefs and saw them make yet another Super Bowl final.

Tom Brady Excited With Win

While the Patriots have received flak all season, Tom Brady has had to bear much of the criticism. He said going into the game against the Chiefs that he knew many fans had stopped supporting the Patriots and gave them no chance of making it to the Super Bowl. It was a great feeling for Brady and his teammates to silence the critics.

In a statement, Brady said

The odds were stacked against us. It hasn’t been that way for us for a while. It certainly was this year. We started off so slow. It’s certainly a hard thing to do against the first-ranked team in the conference who has been playing great all year, and has certainly been playing great at home. We knew it was going to take a lot. It took some great plays and some great conversions, and just proud of us getting the job done

Credit must be given to the Patriot’s head coach Bill Belichick who came up with the perfect strategy of defeating the Chiefs. He knew just exactly how to exploit the weaknesses of the Kansas City Chiefs and his players executed the plan perfectly.
