English football fans are the most passionate football fans in the world and also the most boisterous fans in all of football.
They idolize their football heroes and shower them with praises when they do well but at the same time are quick to throw them under the bus when they fail.
Manchester United continues to be one of the most popular football clubs in the world. The Premier League side is no longer the dominating side that it was under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, Man United is still a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.
The Red Devils were expected to have a comfortable win over Sheffield United earlier this week. Sheffield United was at the bottom of the Premier League points table when they took on Manchester United. However, a poor performance by the Red Devils resulted in a shock defeat as Sheffield United won 2-1 and shocked Man U fans.
Man United did not play well and their defense was terrible. Defender Axel Tuanzebe made a mistake when he accidentally guided a shot from Oliver Burke into the Man U goal. He and another black player Anthony Martial received a lot of flak on social media. However, it is one thing to have your performance criticised on social media but another thing when you get subjected to racial abuse.
Man U fans racially abused both Martial and Tuanzebe by using monkey emojis and racist terms. Most of these comments were made on Instagram.
This is a disgrace 🤬
These ignorant idiots need to be exposed so everyone can see them for what they are! pic.twitter.com/jGZiAEnVHv— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) January 28, 2021

Man United Stands With Players and Against Racism
English football clubs have been criticised in the past for not doing enough to stamp out racism. Man United made a strong statement by condemning the racist posts and said the club’s – All Red All Equal policy made it clear that there was no place for racism or discrimination.
The club called on social media platforms to be quick to take action against users who resort to racial abuse and quickly shutdown their accounts. Man United also called on the authorities to put in place stringent regulations that will discourage racial abuse on social media platforms.
Man United captain Harry Maguire and teammates Brandon Williams and Scott McTominay also showed support for Martial and Tuanzebe. They said that they stood behind their teammates and will not tolerate racism from their fans!
