Jake Paul and Anderson SilvaSummary

  • Jake Paul is expected to fight former UFC champ Anderson Silva
  • Silva is considered one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time with a 3-1 professional boxing record
  • Jake Paul faces his biggest test on Oct 29 when he takes on Silva

Jake Paul is set to face Anderson Silva in a boxing match at Gila River Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29.

The bout has been confirmed in an announcement this week by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), a promotion company founded by Jake.

The social media personality-turned professional boxer will finally return to the ring nearly a year after facing former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley in December 2021.

Paul won against Woodley in the “Leave No Doubt” match at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida and he hopes to build on that win when he faces Silva next month.

Paul To Fight UFC Legend Anderson Silva

Silva is widely considered among the best MMA fighters of all time, with an unparalleled UFC record. Now aged 47, the Brazilian-American is well past his prime, but that doesn’t make him a weak contender.

As a professional boxer, Silva holds an impressive 3-1 record, scoring victories against Julio Cesar Chavez (won by split decision) and former UFC light heavyweight champ Tito Ortiz (won via knockout). Both fights took place in 2021.

Commenting on the upcoming match, Paul is all praises for Silva, describing him as the “greatest UFC striker of all time“. Paul said the bout will also serve as proof to his critics that he isn’t selective about his opponents and that he isn’t afraid to face Silva, contrary to what MMA and boxing experts were saying.

Paul was supposed to fight Tommy Fury at Madison Square Garden in August, but the match did not push through as Fury encountered travel difficulties. Hasim Rahman Jr. was later announced as Fury’s replacement, but the match was also cancelled as Rahman failed to meet the weight requirements.

Biggest Test For Jake Paul

Jake Paul currently holds an undefeated record, winning all of his five fights, three of which were against a former UFC fighter. He won by KO against Ben Askren and also defeated Woodley in their two fights, first by decision and the second by KO. The fight against Anderson Silva is going to be the biggest test for Jake Paul!
