The International Gaming Standards Association (iGSA) has announced a significant reduction in membership fees, slashing costs by up to 55% for entry-level members and as much as 44% for top-tier memberships.
Under the new pricing model, annual dues now fall between $5,000 and $50,000, a noticeable drop from the previous range of $11,200 to $89,500.
Aligning with the Modern Gaming Landscape
Along with the price cuts, the trade association that creates benefits for gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators and worldwide regulators has also revamped its membership structure.
Namely, they moved away from the old “precious metals” system of platinum, gold, silver, and bronze.
In a press release on Wednesday, the organization with members spanning 20 countries explained that the updated framework aims to better align with the modern gaming landscape.
iGSA Chairman Nimish Purohit explained that while their membership levels have been “stable”, the industry has suffered dramatic changes.
He further added that the board of directors wished to extend iGSA and boost inclusivity “by making membership affordable to companies from every facet of the industry”.
The list would include both small and large suppliers, content providers, companies in the tech sector companies, and gaming operators.
Feedback from “In-Depth Interviews”
iGSA President Mark Pace explained that the new changes are based on extensive feedback “from in-depth interviews conducted with current, former, and prospective members”.
Pace explained the “key message” they received referred to “having the ability to impact in-committee actions across membership levels and making membership more attainable”.
The restructured membership will provide several options tailored to specific needs. For example, the Director Level will be suitable for companies looking to influence iGSA’s overall strategic direction while the Industry Level will fit businesses operating in both land-based and online sectors.
Going further, the Vertical Level will address the needs of those focused on either brick-and-mortar or online gaming while the Operator Level will specifically match the expectations of land-based and online casino or sports betting operators.
Finally, the Committee Level will match the needs of companies interested in participating in one or two specific committees.
iGSA also mentioned that the new structure allows individuals from various membership levels to be eligible for the board of directors through elections. Additionally, all committee members will have voting rights on iGSA’s initiatives.
