ComplianceOne, a compliance provider group for the iGaming industry around the world, has joined the Netherlands Online Gaming Association (NOGA).

As NOGA’s newest member, the London-based firm will bring its regulatory and technical compliance expertise to the table to help create a safe and responsible online gaming environment in the country.

ComplianceOne Joins NOGA

ComplianceOne launched in the Netherlands in January 2022, just three months after the country opened its regulated online gaming market under the KOA Act. Since then, the group has been helping iGaming operators and suppliers meet compliance requirements via its subsidiary Diligence in Gaming.

Diligence in Gaming supports iGaming firms by ensuring they comply with the rules prior to licence application and stay on top of their regulatory duties as they operate. The company currently serves as the regulatory and operational compliance partner of Dutch operator Smart Gaming which runs the live casino-focused brand, betnation.nl.

Joining Netherlands Online Gaming Association will enable ComplianceOne to better serve operators and providers as they seek bigger opportunities in an evolving market, according to Mike de Graaff, Head of Regulatory Services & Assurance at Diligence in Gaming. The group considers its NOGA membership an important milestone as it looks to bolster support for its Dutch partners.

Welcoming ComplianceOne to NOGA, the association’s Managing Director Peter-Paul de Goeij said the group will make a huge contribution towards building a safe and sustainable Dutch iGaming market.

Several B2C gaming operators are also part of NOGA, including Flutter Entertainment, bet365, Kindred Group and Entain.

Major Reforms Introduced To Dutch iGaming Market

The Dutch iGaming industry continues to grow with more operators entering the market, the latest of which is VBet. As of now, there are 24 iGaming firms operating in the country, up from the initial 10 when the KOA market launched in October 2021. The sector is being supervised by the country’s gambling authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA).

With the rapid growth of the iGaming market, the Dutch government introduced major regulatory reforms, including a ban on untargeted advertising which took effect on July 1. The new rules are aimed at strengthening protections for vulnerable people, especially children and minors.

In terms of compliance, the KSA has placed emphasis on duty of care after it found that some operators are not taking their duty of care responsibilities seriously.
