Audi Think Tank & IOTA To Explore Tangle Use Cases

Updated On Jul 26, 2018 by Cameron Bishop

IOTA Foundation has become synonymous with automobile industry. Under the partnership with German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen, the first car using IOTA’s tangle technology is expected to be rolled out in 2019. The Foundation also launched the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative in May 2018 with industry leaders such as Bosch, IBM, BMW, General Motors, Ford and Renault.

Furthermore, to achieve the objective of building a permissionless mobility ecosystem, the IOTA Foundation has just begun a one week Google Design Sprint with Audi Denkwerkstatt  (Audi’s Think Tank)  in Berlin to study Tangle-based use cases, build a basic prototype and to collect customer feedback.

The Audi Denkwerkstatt team is made up of seven Audi employees who assist 15 colleagues from all business areas, levels and age groups in generating, validating and implementing ideas about premium mobility within six months. The ultimate aim is to create business models independently or in cooperation with others.

The commendable approach to innovation is also a great opportunity for IOTA as it presents an opportunity to integrate its tangle technology into a new mobility solution with expertise from Audi.

IOTA´s open source protocol is structured to be an innovation accelerator for all kinds of business ideas that depend purely on trust in data, scalable & safe machine to machine communication & transaction settlement.
