Brady parted ways with the Patriots after playing with them for 20 years and now Belichick has moved on after serving the team for 24 years.

Robert Kraft Thanks Belichick For Longstanding Partnership

Belichick had an outstanding run with the New England Patriots and ended up leading them to 6 Super Bowl championships, 17 Division Championships and 9 AFC titles. He has an outstanding resume as a coach and will go down in the NFL history books as the third coach to hit 300 plus regular season wins.

The only other coaches to have made this elite list are Don Shula who has 347 games and heads the list along with George Halas who is in third place. Both of them are Hall of Famers and Belichick now sits in second place with 333 regular wins combined with playoff wins. The 71 year old did not have a good season with the Patriots and finished this season with a disappointing 4-13 record.

This was the worst season that Belichick has experienced as a coach and owner Robert Kraft decided that it was time to part ways and bring in new blood to the Patriots.

In a statement, Kraft said

I’m very proud that our partnership lasted for 24 years. Bill has taught me a lot over those years, and we had high expectations for what we could achieve together. I think we were the only ones who had those expectations, and I think it’s safe to say we exceeded them.

Belichick said he was very grateful to have spent over two decades with the Patriots and coach over 1,000 players during his time with the Patriots.

Will Other Teams Look To Hire Belichick?

NFL fans took to social media to pay tribute to Belichick and a lot of them wondered if this is the end of the road for Belichick or will he still continue to coach in the NFL.

That will all depend on if other NFL teams are willing to take a chance with the 71 year old and see if he can still work his magic and win another Super Bowl.
