Oleksandr Usyk won his heavyweight rematch against Brit Anthony Joshua over the weekend to retain his WBA, IBF and WBO belts. The fight which took place in Saudi Arabia was a very close fight and the Ukrainian heavyweight ended up winning by split decision.

Tyson ‘the Gypsy King’ Fury has always wanted to fight his fellow Brit Anthony Joshua in Wembley stadium and give the British fans a massive heavyweight clash.

With Joshua losing two fights in a row to Usyk, Fury has now set his sights on Usyk and talks have already started for a potential fight with Usyk on Dec 17.

Tyson Fury who is the current WBC champ retired after his last fight but the WBC has yet to strip him of his belt. They have given him time until 27 August to come out of retirement as the Gypsy King has teased coming out of retirement if a massive purse was on the line.

It now looks like the fight against Usyk could have an even bigger purse than the £85 million that was on the line during Usyk vs. Joshua 2. Saudi Arabia are keen to host what will be a mega heavyweight fight between Usyk vs. Fury on Dec 17 which will be one day before the FIFA World Cup final which is taking place in Qatar.

The minister for sport in Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammad Abdulaziz went on record to state that they were very keen on hosting the Usyk vs. Fury fight in Riyadh. There are unconfirmed reports that £125 million could be on the line for this fight!

Fury Dismisses Usyk’s Skills and Performance

Tyson Fury who is never shy to speak his mind did not mince any words in describing what he thought of the rematch between Usyk vs. Joshua. Fury claims that the performance of both fighters was terrible and claimed that he will be able to beat both of them on the same night.

Oleksandr Usyk has also gone on record to say that if the fight with Fury does not materialize, he might retire and relinquish his belts!
