PGA Tour 2019: Masters Tournament Betting Preview

Updated On Apr 9, 2019 by Ryan Knuppel

PGA Tour: Masters TournamentThe 2019 Masters Tournament is set to tee off on Thursday, April 11 from Augusta National Golf Club. This is always one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the entire year, and kicks off the spring season for most people.

The field is once again loaded with all of the top golfers in the world, and everyone is doing all that they can to put on the legendary green jacket.

Getting off the tee and finding the fairway is extremely important at Augusta, and surviving “Amen Corner” is always a challenge. Let’s take a look at the current odds to win the 2019 Masters Tournament.

The Odds

Favourites

Rory McIlroy (+700): Rory McIlroy is the huge betting favorite at the 2019 Masters Tournament and for good reason. No one is playing better than McIlroy this season, and he has performed well at Augusta in the past. Is this finally the year that McIlroy will complete his career grand slam?

Dustin Johnson (+1000): Dustin Johnson has the second best odds to win the Masters Tournament, and his ability to drive the ball could shorten the course this weekend. Johnson has been inconsistent so far this season, but there is no doubt that he has the ability to pull this one off.

Justin Rose (+1400): Justin Rose has been one of the best players on tour for the last few seasons, and he has had some past success at this tournament. Rose was runner-up at Augusta in 2015 and 2017, but could finally breakthrough in 2019.

Tiger Woods (+1400): Tiger Woods has enjoyed great success at Augusta throughout his career, and has shown glimpses of returning to his old form at times this season. Woods hasn’t won a Major since the 2008 U.S. Open, but all signs point to him winning another one soon. Woods will be a popular pick this weekend.

ESPN

Jon Rahm (+1600): Rahm finished in fourth place a year ago at Augusta, and is playing really well this season. Don’t be surprised to see his name near the top of the leaderboard all weekend.

Contenders

Jordan Spieth (+1800)
Justin Thomas (+1800)
Rickie Fowler (+1800)
Francesco Molinari (+2200)
Brooks Koepka (+2500)
Paul Casey (+2500)
Tommy Fleetwood (+2500)

Jordan Spieth has already donned the green jacket once in his career, but he has some demons to deal with at Augusta this weekend. Francesco Molinari is another name to keep an eye on from this group, as is Rickie Fowler. Don’t be surprised if someone from this group is battling for the title on Sunday.

Longshots

Jason Day (+2800)
Bryson DeChambeau (+3300)
Bubba Watson (+3300)
Hideki Matsuyama (+3300)
Adam Scott (+4000)
Louis Oosthuizen (+4000)
Phil Mickelson (+4000)
Tony Finau (+4000)
Xander Schauffele (+4000)
Matt Kuchar (+4500)
Everyone Else (+5000 or Higher)

Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson haven’t been playing very well in recent seasons, but they are always a factor at Augusta. Both players have worn the green jacket, and their left handed swing seems to fit this course. Don’t be surprised to see them in contention on Sunday.

Our Pick

It’s always tough to pick what will happen at the Masters Tournament, but look for one of the favourites to come away with the victory. I know that Tiger Woods will be an extremely popular pick, and that’s who I’m going to go with as well. It just feels like Woods is due for another major, and he will be victorious this weekend at Augusta. Bet Tigers Woods (+1400) to win the 2019 Masters Tournament.
