Legislators in Ireland have complained that existing gaming regulations are outdated and does not properly regulated the current gambling market. They are working on rolling out updated laws and establishing a new gambling regulator.

BoyleSports is a popular bookmaker in Ireland who is now getting ready to set up shop in the UK. The Irish betting house recently acquired Wilf Gilbert, an independent gambling operator who is also one of the oldest operators in the UK. Wilf Gilbert operated 13 outlets across the country and now BoyleSports will take over these shops.

BoyleSports did not disclose the amount it paid Wilf Gilbert for the acquisition but did confirm that it had big plans for the UK market and planned to have more than 100 shops before the end of 2020.

BoyleSports CEO Conor Gray said that one of the company’s main focuses was to provide world class betting lounges to UK players just like they did in Ireland. BoyleSports had a long term goal of expanding its presence and the Wilf Gilbert acquisition will help the company fulfil this long term goal!
