There were a lot of Manny Pacquiao fans who believed that they had seen the last of him once he lost his fight to Floyd Mayweather back in 2015. Pacquiao is a senator in the Philippines and many believed that he would now focus on his political career.
Pacquiao came out of retirement and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. He is set to return to Las Vegas and defend his WBA Welterweight belt against Adrien Broner on Jan 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Pacquiao hasn’t fought in Las Vegas for quite sometime now as his last two fights were in Australia when he had a controversial decision loss to Jeff Horn and a KO win in Malaysian against Lucas Matthysse.
Pacquiao has had an incredible boxing career over the years which include wins over some of the biggest names in the game. He has fought and won against the likes of Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez (twice), Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. The 40 year old Pacquiao will bring a wealth of experience into the ring when he takes on Broner who is just 29.

Broner Has A Huge Task Ahead
The fight between Pacquiao and Broner hasn’t received the media attention that the promoters would have liked. There are a couple of reasons for the lack of publicity. The first is because Pacquiao is an overwhelming favourite and many believe this will be a walk in the park for him.
The second is that Broner has been making more news for his antics outside the ring involving sexual battery in a couple of cases. Broner has not won his last two fights – one was a draw with Jessie Vargas and the second was decision victory that was unanimously awarded to Mikey Garcia.
Broner knows that he will have to be on top of his game if he is going to pose any threat to Pacuqiao. A win will re-launch his boxing career and give him a fresh start at changing his life around.
Pacquiao has his sights on Floyd Mayweather as the two recently met at an NBA game. It is a known fact that Mayweather is looking to get back into the ring and Pacquiao wants to make sure that he wins his fight against Broner and then throws his hat into the ring for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2.
