When All Star Kevin Durant who only last year agreed to stay at the Brooklyn Nets, announced that he wanted to leave there were many NBA franchises that were keen on signing Durant but were unable to do so because Durant came at a very high price.

The Phoenix Suns managed to get the job done after they decided to give up 4 unprotected first round draft picks, let go of Jae Crowder, Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges along with a pick swap.

Phoenix Suns Have What It Takes To Win Gold

The Suns now have a pretty strong team with the likes of Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, GM James Jones and head coach Monty Williams.

Prior to getting Durant on board, the Suns had odds to win the NBA Championship this year at +1800. Once they signed Durant and made it official, those odds changed dramatically and went to +450.

Durant made his first official appearance with the Suns on 16 Feb when he faced media and answered a number of questions. Durant said that he felt very confident that the Suns had all the right pieces in place to go all the way this season and win an NBA Championship.

While Durant made his first media appearance for the Suns, he is yet to confirm when he will make his first official appearance on the court for the Suns. The 34 year old is recovering from an MCL sprain and said that he is not certain when he will play his first game for the Suns but remains hopeful that it will be soon.

Durant Shares His Thoughts On The Brooklyn Nets

When Durant signed with the Brooklyn Nets, everyone expected big things from the Nets as they had a star line-up which included James Harden and Kyrie Irving. However, there was a lot of disharmony within the team and was one of the reasons why Durant decided to move on.

When the media asked Durant to open up about his time with the Nets, he had this to say. Durant said

It was terrible how some stuff went down, but at the end of the day I love the grind and we all loved the grind in Brooklyn. I wish them the best going forward, they got a bright future.
