Durant made it clear that he was not very keen on staying with Brooklyn. He is alleged to have negotiated with owner Joe Tsai to release GM Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash for him to stay on.

Tsai made it clear on social media that his management team was there to stay and that whatever decision they make would be in the best interests of the Brooklyn Nets. Over the last few weeks, no NBA franchise has come close to working out a deal with the Nets to secure Kevin Durant.

Kevin Durant To Stay On With The Nets

KD has now confirmed that he will stay on and play basketball for the Nets this season. GM Marks released a statement and said that owners Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai, Steve Nash and himself met with Kevin Durant and his representative Rich Kleiman in Los Angeles and worked out an agreement.

KD has agreed to work together with the Nets management team with one objective in mind and that is to win the NBA Championship this season. While both parties appear to be finally on the same page, it looks like KD has ended up on the losing side as he could not secure a release from the Nets and move to another team while the Nets have stuck to their guns and have ended up retaining the services of the NBA All Star.

Brooklyn Nets have immediately strengthened their position to win the NBA Championship this season by retaining KD. They once again have a very strong team with KD, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons. Nets fans will have to wait for a few games to see if KD and the rest of the Nets are able to work together and play as a team with one goal in mind.
