The Black Beast headlined a UFC fight card “UFC Vegas 6” on 08 August at the UFC Apex Centre in Las Vegas when he took on veteran Aleksei “The Boa Constrictor” Oleinik.

The card was a banger as the UFC had filled the card with a number of exciting fights. Tough there were no fans in attendance, the television audience had a fun night taking to social media to express their opinions. The main event turned out to be a banger as Lewis tried to knock Oleinik’s head off during the first few seconds of the opening round and even managed to take down Oleinik who is a submission specialist.

Oleinik had Lewis in a tight spot towards the end of the first round as he applied one of his submission moves to try and strangle the black beast. Lewis managed to hold on for more than a minute and was saved by the bell.

Black Beast Has Most KO’s In His Division

Before the fight, Derrick Lewis was in some illustrious company with 10 KO’s to his name in the heavyweight division. The record was tied as former UFC heavyweight champions Junior Dos Santos and Cain Velasquez also had 10 KOs to their name. Now, Lewis has broken the record and sits on top of the list with 11 Kos, making him one of the most dangerous fighters in the heavyweight division.

The Black Beast was pleased with his performance and said that his focus going forward is to lose weight and shed around 10 to 15 pounds before thinking about his next fight. Lewis plans to fight in December 2020 and will want to have a few more KOs to his name to cement his position as the ‘Knockout King’ of the heavyweight division.

Lewis has a massive fan following because of his aggressive fighting style and also because he has one of the most interesting Instagram accounts amongst all MMA fighters.
