  • The expansion would add new entertainment options for sports fans via a new two-story building with a luxurious rooftop.
  • Xfinity Live! will also receive a $2 million upgrade including enhanced viewing areas and amenities.

Live! Casino Philadelphia owner the Cordish Companies have put forward a $15 million expansion plan in the Stadium District.

The Pennsylvania project would attract additional entertainment alternatives to sports fans in Philadelphia, adding to the vibrant atmosphere that has turned South Philly into a go-to destination preferred by those who enjoy game-day experiences.

Upcoming Upgrades

Live! Casino Philadelphia officially opened three years ago, in 2021. Located within steps of Philadelphia’s major stadiums, the venue rapidly became a favorite for fans seeking gaming and entertainment before, during, or after sports events.

The freshly proposed expansion, which would be located right outside the venue, would bring in a larger number of visitors, with potentially positive effects in terms of casino traffic.

After it already tapped into Philadelphia’s unique distinction of having all four major sports venues within the same complex by launching Xfinity Live! and Live! Casino Philadelphia, the Cordish Companies want to go a step further.

Their proposal includes a two-story building that would feature a luxurious rooftop space.

The proposal also includes an open-air beer garden that would host social events, along with the Crush Bar that would serve hand-squeezed Crush drinks.

The upgrade would also extend the PBR Cowboy Bar, with newly added bar areas and an outdoor stage.

The landscape would also feature a dedicated food truck area for local businesses, an upgraded turf area, which would serve for hosting a variety of community activities, and modern audiovisual installations with LED screens.

The project also envisions public art pieces integrated throughout the plaza.

Blake Cordish, Principal of The Cordish Companies, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, saying they were

proud to continue investing in South Philadelphia to create an unparalleled experience for guests and fans

Cordish added the new investment would reflect their commitment to creating

a gathering space for festivals, sports viewing, and community events unlike anything in the area.

The project is slated for completion in early 2026.

$2M Investment in Xfinity Live!

On top of the expansion, Xfinity Live! will also undergo a $2 million renovation with updates including improved viewing areas and outdoor amenities.

The list of announced changes includes the conversion of the Broad Street Bullies Pub into the NBC Sports Arena, as well as the expansion of Chickie & Pete’s with additional LED screens and an outdoor patio.

Xfinity Live!’s director of operations Erin Seifert expressed their thrill for the announced expansions expected to attract more fans.

The Cordish Companies have already invested $800 million into the Sports Complex, clearly expressing their intention to build on it.
