Found just outside of the Summerlin area of Las Vegas, Boyd Gaming’s Suncoast Hotel & Casino welcomes patrons with fun gaming, exclusive restaurants, and deluxe accommodations, among others.
Starting Wednesday, the iconic property also boasts a brand-new US sportsbook which executive vice president of operations Steve Schutte is confident will become “one of the most popular sports viewing areas in Summerlin and the entire northwest valley”.
“An Entertainment Destination for Local Sports Fans”
In his speech during the grand opening, Schutte explained they built the sportsbook “to be an entertainment destination for local sports fans”.
One of the first locals to place a sentimental bet was longtime casino customer Cindy Ono who wagered $100 on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team she was a cheerleader for in the ‘80s.
Soon after, fellow sports aficionados followed suit, entering the former showroom space that is 15.5 feet tall and spreads across 1,700 square feet.
Bets are placed either at the counter or via the new kiosks. The space hosts high-definition TVs featuring sports channels and special bet menus, just what NFL fans will be looking for starting Thursday as the new season is ready to kick off.
Comfort and Service, at the Core
In the context of sports betting becoming increasingly mobile, the new brick-and-mortar sportsbook should offer a more inviting experience via “comfort and great betting options” for customers looking to leave their homes and watch the games with fellow sports fans.
Schutte added their main focus was on “making sure it’s a great, enjoyable viewing area” with mandatory “state-of-the-art technology” along with plenty of “comfortable seating”.
The sportsbook is just one of the multi-sided property renovation projects underway there.
Next week, construction crews will arrive and start renovation work on the former sportsbook space and the west side next to the parking garage, where a large bingo room will be built.
The venue’s current bingo room on the second floor will stay open until the completion of the new project scheduled for 2025.
The operator also wishes to renovate the casino floor by adding a raised center bar with 70 seats as well as update and extend the meeting space on the second floor.
Additionally, Boyd wants to renovate the hotel check-in, the bowling center, and the food hall.
In 2023, when the multi-year transformation was initiated, the casino introduced a fresh high-limit slot room alongside William B’s Steakhouse.
