Biles: “It Was Super Exciting. We Had Fun.”
The girls shined at Bercy Arena, and all eyes were on the incomparable Simone Biles who grabbed her fifth gold Olympic medal after helping her team dominate the final and scoop up gold for the first time since 2016.
The crowd was overly pleased even though the outcome was never truly in question during what started as “a redemption tour” after Simone Biles’s dramatic pull out at Tokyo 2020 but quickly turned into more of a showcase of acrobatic skill, force, and twisting.
The Americans finished atop the podium for the third time in their last four trips to the Olympic Games.
They were almost nearly six points ahead of the Italians, who won silver, and the Brazilians, who grabbed the bronze medal.
The phenomenal Simone Biles excelled in all four events less than two days after she overcame calf pain while qualifying.
She began the evening with a soaring Cheng vault and ended with her signature floor routine, partly set to Taylor Swift’s music. Biles commented on her victory
Making it look easy 🔥@Simone_Biles closes out the first rotation with a 14.900 on vault!

Bobby Finke’s finishing kick brought a new silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle.
Team USA is on a medal run in France as its toll reached 26 at the end of Tuesday 30th July, ranking sixth on the board with four gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals.
