Premier League Fantasy FootaballIn the first of a weekly series on Premier League Fantasy Football, in which we will give you tips on players who we believe will give you a good weekly point’s haul. Each week we will give you four players to pick for your FPL teams.

Here are our picks for gameweek 16:

Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea)

A goalkeeper for a side in the Premier League is not an obvious choice as an FPL asset. However, the Polish star has a history of delivering points for Fantasy bosses. The ‘keeper’s price of £4.6million could also prove to be a big attraction.

The former Arsenal-goalkeeper has the fourth highest points total of any player in his position this season. Fabianski has kept five clean sheets in the Premier League while boosting his points total by collecting 61 save points.

Fabianski’s hopes of collecting points are boosted by the fact that he enjoys a home game against West Brom this weekend. The Baggies have struggled for goals on their travels this season, scoring just four goals in their seven away games in the top-flight.

Mamadou Sakho (Crystal Palace)

Sakho is another player from a team in the drop zone. However, Crystal Palace’s defensive performances have improved immensely of late and the Eagles have kept consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League.

The Eagles welcome Bournemouth to Selhurst Park, in a massive game for the club from the capital.

Sakho’s performance at the heart of the Palace defence has been a key to the Eagles recent defensive improvement. In fact, the Frenchman international has picked up five bonus points in his last two appearances in the Premier League.

At a price of just £4.9million, the defender could prove to be a bargain buy for your FPL team this weekend.

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

Liverpool’s Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah has the biggest ownership of any of the Reds players in FPL. However, it is his Brazilian teammate Philippe Coutinho who heads into Sunday’s Merseyside derby with Everton as the form Reds player.

Coutinho scored a hat-trick in the Reds 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow in the Champions League in midweek. The playmaker has also produced two goals and four assists in his last four Premier League games.

The Brazilian picked up maximum bonus points in the Reds last clash with Brighton in the Premier League. Everton have tightened up defensively in recent games, keeping three consecutive clean sheets in all competitions.

However, Coutinho has the ability to break down any stubborn Everton resilience. The attacking midfielder has scored in the last two Merseyside derbies at Anfield. At a price of £8.9million, he looks like a good pick for any FPL.

Charlie Austin (Southampton)

The former QPR striker heads into the Saints home game with Arsenal on Sunday, having scored three goals in his last two starts. In his last home outing in the Premier League against Everton, the striker scored a brace and picked up maximum bonus points. Austin also bagged a goal in a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth in his last start, picking up another bonus point.

Austin started the Saints last top-flight game at Manchester City on the bench. However, he is expected to return to the starting line-up this weekend. At a price of just £6million, Austin could be another money-saving option for your attack.
