Tyson Fury and Frank WarrenSummary:

  • Tyson Fury’s promoter has promised fans Fury’s next opponent is a game changer
  • Warren also confirmed that it will not be Oleksandr Usyk as that is likely in 2024
  • Deontay Wilder not happy with Andy Ruiz Jr. demanding a 50/50 split

Boxing fans have been waiting to see if the mega Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight will take place in 2023.

There were talks that the two would fight in Saudi Arabia towards the end of the year as the Main Event with the co-Main event being another heavyweight showdown between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Johsua.

Both those fights are not going to take place in 2023 but Fury’s promoter Frank Warren does have a fight announcement.

Warren Promises Gaming Changing Fight Next

Warren told media this week that Tyson ‘the Gypsy King’ Fury will fight in 2023 but it will not be against the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champ Usyk. Warren claims that this fight will indeed take place in Saudi Arabia but it is likely to take place in early 2024.

Warren said that the fight did not materialize in 2023 not because Fury did not agree to the terms and conditions but it was Usyk’s camp that stalled proceedings. He promised fans that Fury’s next fight will be a game changer but did not name the opponent.

Warren says that he is not in a position to immediately reveal who the opponent is but will make the announcement in the next few days. There are not many big names left in the heavyweight division for Fury to face next, so there is speculation that Fury might end up boxing former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou.

If this fight does happen, it should be an easy fight for Fury who is the WBC heavyweight champ as Ngannou is not a boxer but does possess once punch knockout power! This fight should sell a lot of pay per views and hype up Fury even more before his big fight against Usyk in 2024!

Wilder Not Happy With Andy Ruiz Jr.

Deontay Wilder is also not going to fight Anthony Joshua in 2023 as this fight is also likely to take place in 2024 on the Fury vs. Usyk card in Saudi Arabia.

Wilder wanted to fight former WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champ Andy Ruiz Jr. and offered him a 70/30 purse which was turned down as Ruiz Jr. wants a 50/50 split which Wilder isn’t happy with!
