The $120 million jackpot is the second-biggest jackpot offered by any lottery, the first being the $150 million prize offered in September 2019. The latter was won by three people. The prize had increased after there were no winners for the last six consecutive Powerball draws. Hart said that the Powerball prize compelled Australians to think about how their fortunes could turn better if they won it.
Currently, Australia’s biggest lottery winner is a nurse from Sydney who walked away with more than $107 million in the 2019 draw. Ticket sales will close by 7.30 PM AEST on 24 February 2022, therefore, any participant willing to sign up could buy their ticket by then. The lottery draw will be held an hour after the entries closes. The results will be announced at 9 PM AEST. If there is no division one winner, the jackpot amount will rise further for next week’s Powerball draw.

Over 14 division one winners had the opportunity to win more than $550 million via Powerball payouts.
