Boston will try to even up the series with a game on Thursday night at Fenway Park.<\/p>\n<p>Boston has gone just 3-9 to start this season, and they have just one win in their last five tries. The Red Sox are already trailing the Tampa Bay Rays by 6.5 games in the American League East. Toronto snapped a four game losing streak with their win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night, and are looking to start a winning streak. <\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jays have gone just 4-8 through their first 12 games. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/reviews\/intertops\">Boston is -185 in this matchup with the Blue Jays<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Red Sox Struggling to Get Outs<\/h2>\n<p>The Boston Red Sox brought back much of their pitching staff from a season ago, but almost everyone has struggled to begin the season. The Red Sox have just one quality start this season, and their team earned run <em>average is sitting at 6.35<\/em>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/statss.aspx?playerid=9132&#038;position=P\">Nathan Eovaldi<\/a><\/strong> will make the start on Thursday night and is looking for his first victory. The hard throwing right hander has an <em>earned run average of 8.10<\/em> so far in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Hitting has also been an issue for this team, but their lineup is eventually going to figure it out. The Red Sox are hitting <em>just .237 as a team<\/em>, and have <em>scored just 51 runs through 12 games<\/em>. <strong>J.D. Martinez<\/strong> has picked up where he left off last season, and leads the team with <em>15 hits and a .326 batting average<\/em>. <strong>Mookie Betts<\/strong> and <strong>Jackie Bradley Jr.<\/strong> are off to very slow starts, but there is no doubt that they will recover.<\/p>\n<h2>Blue Jays Hoping For More Offense<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/bluejays\">Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> have been even worse than the Red Sox when it comes to hitting, but they have a young lineup that is trying to figure things out. Toronto is <em>hitting just .193 as a team<\/em>, and they have scored just three runs per game so far this season. Shortstop <strong>Freddy Galvis<\/strong> has been the lone bright spot for the Blue Jays offense, and leads the team with <em>3 homers, eight runs batted in, and a .333 batting average<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto will send <strong>Aaron Sanchez<\/strong> to the mound in game two of the series, and that has to feel good for Blue Jays fans. Sanchez has gone 1-1 so far in 2019, but sports an impressive 1.64 earned run average. The Blue Jays sport a <em>2.77 team earned run average<\/em> so far this season, but the lack of run support has hurt their record.<\/p>\n<h2>Boston Gets Back on Track<\/h2>\n<p>Don\u2019t expect to see the Boston Red Sox at the bottom of the American League East standings for long, and they will get this thing figured out. Toronto spoiled the home opener for the defending champs, but Boston will get some revenge in this game. The Red Sox just have too much talent to keep losing this many games.
