\"WorldThe World Poker Tour<\/strong> (WPT) has signed a new partnership deal with Mexican multimedia conglomerate TV Azteca<\/a>, a Grupo Salinas company. This comes as part of WPT\u2019s ongoing efforts towards global expansion.<\/p>\n

The five-year strategic alliance will see WPT\u2019s extensive poker content library distributed in Mexico and across Latin America. <\/p>\n

Under the terms of the agreement, 17 seasons of the WPT will reach tens of millions of viewers, giving a huge boost to the poker brand\u2019s international presence. Both companies will work together to come up with original programs for the Spanish-speaking community. <\/p>\n

The partnership is expected to provide enormous publicity to WPT<\/a>, considering TV Azteca\u2019s wide reach, offering televised content via its free-to-air stations to over 95 percent of the Mexican market. Additional plans by the multimedia giant include the development of a new social poker app dedicated to Latin American players. This will be done with the help of WPT. <\/p>\n

The poker brand has also agreed to introduce a number of its major live poker tournaments to the Mexican market. A newly-formed LATAM Tour<\/em> will see up two WPT Main Tour events as well as eight WPT Deepstacks<\/em> and WPT500 events<\/em> being held in the country each season. The first of these events will make their debut within the first year of the partnership. WPT-branded merchandise will also be displayed in Grupo Salinas stores located all over Mexico and throughout Latin America.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the new deal, Adam Pliska<\/strong>, WPT CEO, said the partnership marks a historic milestone for the WPT as it continues to establish itself in the global poker scene. With Grupo Salinas\u2019 immense network of TV distribution outlets, social media platforms, merchandising venues and land-based casinos, WPT will gain a foothold in the poker and social games market in Latin America.<\/p>\n

Esports Collaboration<\/h2>\n

In addition to WPT\u2019s new five-year partnership with TV Azteca, its sister company Allied Esports<\/a> has also entered into agreement with Grupo Salinas to cater to the Latin American esports market. The team-up will see the production of esports-related content, and the creation of a new online platform exclusive for esports enthusiasts in the region. Esports is proving to be a lucrative industry, recording rapidly growing revenues, with over 2.2 billion gamers across the globe.<\/p>\n
