The AI processed extensive data on the teams that are participating in the world cup, <strong>player data, past results and then went on to simulate over 1 million potential outcomes<\/strong> before arriving at a final outcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goldman Sachs<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eHB9ppjdN-c?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Goldman Sachs analysts said <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We capture the stochastic nature of the tournament carefully using state-of-the-art statistical methods and we consider a lot of information in doing so. We are drawn to machine learning models because they can sift through a large number of possible explanatory variables to produce more accurate forecasts than conventional alternatives<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Goldman Sachs: Results From AI Research<\/h2>\n<p>The results show that if you want to back a team to win the World Cup, then <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brazil_national_football_team\">put your money on Team Brazil<\/a>. The AI research shows that <strong>Germany<\/strong> and Brazil will clash in the final and it will be Brazil that will go on to win its 6th World Cup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>England, Spain and Argentina<\/strong> are expected to make it to the quarter-finals but they will not go further than that. France has a great chance of winning the world cup but are expected to lose to Brazil in the semi-finals. Hosts <strong>Russia<\/strong> are not expected to have a good tournament and will bow out during the group stage. <strong>Saudi Arabia<\/strong> is expected to surprise everyone and make it past the group stage.<\/p>\n<p>It will be interesting to see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/our-thinking\/pages\/world-cup-2018\/multimedia\/report.pdf\">how accurate these predictions<\/a> from Goldman Sachs turn out to be.
