\"\"The Ethereum Classic (ETC) 2018 road map indicates public release of Emerald desktop wallet<\/a> for the crypto coin may happen in March. It is the first step in the Emerald project, which is going to be a platform for future decentralized applications (dapps)<\/a> on the Ethereum Classic blockchain. Currently there is no wallet, which verifies transactions in a trustless manner, for the Ethereum Classic (ETC) community. The arrival of the Emerald wallet will solve this crucial problem.<\/p>\n

Other issues faced by developers is that there is currently no common framework to build dApps on Ethereum Classic. Furthermore, Ethereum Classic lacks User Interface (UI) components, and no standard practices for 3rd party developers. The Emerald project will resolve these issues.<\/p>\n

Through a modular approach, the apps will be split into several replaceable layers with reusable components, which can be later replaced or integrated into 3rd party dapps.
\nEmerald will include the following parts:
\n\u2022 Geth, or other service which provides standard Web3 API
\n\u2022 UI for desktop, mobile, web or console
\n\u2022 Connector UI < – > Chain, which also operates all private data, such as private keys, address book, tracked
\ncontracts & tokens, etc<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the developers are planning to provide an easy to use software development kit (SDK) for Ethereum Classic dApps. So, a developer will have all the tools necessary to build dApps, in addition to the instruments required to test and bundle it as a desktop, web, or mobile app.<\/p>\n

The Emerald Wallet will be comprised of all these components in one place. In the future, the ETC development team is going to start splitting Emerald into several independent pieces, separating Emerald SDK and building a second Dapp, which is going to be an app for Smart Contract developers (develop\/deploy\/debug cycle).<\/p>\n

Additionally, the ETC development team is going to work on a separate command-line utility to help 3rd party software to be integrated into Ethereum Classic. These tasks will be implemented on a step by step basis, but a beta version of Emerald Wallet, as a first app in the project, is expected to be released next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
