\"\"A New York based crypto currency miner has received a notification from the Federal Communications Commission saying that his mining hardware is interfering with T-Mobile\u2019s 700 MHz LTE network at Brooklyn, New York. The department has also raised several questions<\/a> regarding the mining equipment, which is an Antminer S5 Bitcoin<\/a> Miner.<\/p>\n

According to Victor Rosario, the crypto currency<\/a> miner residing at Brooklyn, New York, On November 30, 2017, in response to the complaint, agents from the Enforcement Bureau\u2019s New York Office confirmed by direction finding techniques that radio emissions in the 700 MHz band were emanating from his residence. Rosario identified the device as an Antminer s5 Bitcoin Miner. When the miner was turned off, the interference ceased.<\/p>\n

The FCC followed the identification process with an official letter asking to cease operating the device, until the condition causing the harmful interference is corrected. He was also warned that the FCC will slap substantial fines in case he continues to operate the device. The FCC had further stated in the letter that he might be even arrested and the equipment may be seized by the authorities, if necessary.<\/p>\n

The authorities have also raised the following questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Are you still actively using the device?
\n2. Please provide the following information on the device: Manufacturer, Model,
\nSerial Number, and if there is any FCC labeling identification.
\n3. What steps do you intend to take to ensure that your device that is installed
\nat your residence does not cause harmful interference in the future?
\n4. Where did you purchase the device? Please provide receipt of purchase<\/p>\n
