IOTA\u2019s Tangle technology for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/altcoin-iota-30-microsoft-launches-market-iot\/\">Internet of Things (IoT)<\/a> will be used to provide an array of new technology features for the residents of the city.<\/p>\n<p>To begin with IOTA will create a citizen ID cards built on the Tangle technology. The <strong>\u2018TangleID\u2019<\/strong> cards will be designed in such a way that it will eliminate risks of identity theft and voter fraud, while providing an easy means for tracking health history and other data for services related to government.<\/p>\n<p>IOTA is already working on another project which aims to create a palm-sized card to detect humidity, pollution, temperature, and light using sensors. It is primarily intended to provide real-time information about pollution levels to the citizens of Taipei. IOTA Foundation\u2019s <strong>co-founder David S\u00f8nsteb\u00f8<\/strong> believes the adoption as a big step forward. <strong>S\u00f8nsteb\u00f8<\/strong> said<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2018the technology is ready for real-world use cases and is more than just a theory\u2019.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Through an <a href=\"https:\/\/pr.blonde20.com\/iota-taipei\/\">official press release<\/a>,<strong> Wei-bin Lee, Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology in Taipei City Government<\/strong>, stated that the <strong>\u2018unique technology\u2019<\/strong> offered by IOTA will guide the <strong>\u2018new era of smart cities for the citizens of Taipei\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IOTA, the creators of Tangle technology, has been chosen as a partner by Taipei (Taiwan) for the latters plan to become a smart city using the power of block chain technology.
