To achieve the objective, the airport <a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom.bne.com.au\/brisbane-airport-and-travelbybit-launch-world-first-digital-currency-airport-terminal\/\">has entered into a partnership<\/a> with Queensland-based Bitcoin payments startup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelbybit.com\/\">TravelbyBit<\/a> to implement the latter\u2019s point-of-sale payment systems in retail stores at two of the airport\u2019s terminals.<\/p>\n<p>BNE pointed out Low transaction fees, better exchange rates, and complete privacy, with peer-to-peer payments as some of the advantages of cryptocurrencies over traditional form of payments.<\/p>\n<p>The public announcement said <strong>\u201cTravellers will soon be able to use TravelbyBit\u2019s crypto currency payment system, including Bitcoin, Dash, Ethereum and other digital currencies, to dine and shop at stores.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Roel Hellemons, the Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) general manager <\/strong>claimed that it will be the first airport in the world to accept crypto currencies. Hellemons said \u201cMany people around the world have made money investing in crypto currencies and a lot of these people travel internationally, so it makes sense to offer a digital currency experience within our terminals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The decision to accept crypto currencies underlines the open-minded approach of Australia towards crypto currencies and block chain technology as such.
