{"id":14582,"date":"2026-07-08T09:49:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T09:49:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/?p=14582"},"modified":"2026-07-08T11:57:49","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T11:57:49","slug":"iconic-casino-in-vegas-set-to-reopen-under-new-name","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/iconic-casino-in-vegas-set-to-reopen-under-new-name\/","title":{"rendered":"Iconic Casino in Vegas Set to Reopen Under New Name"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/club-fortune-casino-north.jpg\" alt=\"Cub Fortune North\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14583\" title=\"Iconic Casino in Vegas Set to Reopen Under New Name\" \/><strong>Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Club Fortune North will hold a soft opening on July 19, with the official opening scheduled for July 22.<\/li>\n<li>Truckee Gaming purchased the former Poker Palace for $20 million in October 2025.<\/li>\n<li>The renovated casino features new slot machines, a sportsbook, expanded dining and a modernized design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/us\/states\/nevada\">North Las Vegas<\/a>&#8216; most popular casino properties is getting ready to usher in patrons once more, this time under a new name and dressed in new clothing.<\/p>\n<h2>50-Year-Old Casino, Coming Back to Life<\/h2>\n<p>Namely, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Poker_Palace\">former Poker Palace<\/a> will reopen later this month (July) as <strong>Club Fortune North<\/strong> at the end of a lengthy renovation project that has changed the nearly half-a-century-old casino into a modern-day gaming destination.<\/p>\n<p>Reno-based <strong>Truckee Gaming<\/strong> has confirmed that the property\u2019s soft opening will be held on July 19, followed by its official grand opening on July 22. <\/p>\n<p>The company <strong>purchased the casino for $20 million in October 2025<\/strong> before closing it for what ultimately became a far more ambitious renovation than originally planned.<\/p>\n<p>Truckee Gaming\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, <strong>Ferenc Szony<\/strong>, explained that the project evolved into an almost complete reconstruction of the property.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The renovation ended up being almost a complete redo<\/em>&#8220;, Szony said in previous comments, adding that the expanded scope created a casino with a contemporary look that is dramatically different from the original Poker Palace.<\/p>\n<h2>Upgraded Gaming Options, Bigger Dining Venues, Full Building Makeover<\/h2>\n<p>Located on Las Vegas Boulevard North near Nellis Air Force Base, Poker Palace first opened its doors in 1974 and became a familiar destination for local residents over the decades.<\/p>\n<p>The redesigned Club Fortune North will feature new slot machines and upgraded gaming systems, a newly designed bar, larger restaurant and kitchen facilities, renovated restrooms and a complete overhaul of both the interior and exterior of the building.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike many Las Vegas casinos, the property will not include table games or a poker room. Instead, guests will find a race and sportsbook operated by Boomer&#8217;s Sportsbook, alongside its slot gaming and food and beverage offerings.<\/p>\n<p>Truckee Gaming also operates several casinos in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legitgambling.com\/news\/northern-nevada-gaming-booms-as-vegas-slows\/\">northern Nevada<\/a> as well as the original Club Fortune in Henderson.<\/p>\n<p>The reopening represents the latest investment in North Las Vegas&#8217; gaming sector, bringing a historic casino back into operation after months of redevelopment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summary: Club Fortune North will hold a soft opening on July 19, with the official opening scheduled for July 22.
