He became the <strong>youngest player in league history to record games of 35, 40, 45 and 50 points<\/strong>, and also the <strong>youngest to reach double-digit assists in a game<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Knueppel, who played for the Charlotte Hornets, had a strong rookie campaign of his own. He averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists, and set a rookie record with 273 three-pointers made. His contributions helped Charlotte reach the Play-In Tournament, though the team was eventually eliminated.<\/p>\n<p>The connection between the two players added another layer to the race.
